Industron promotes research and development to offer new high value to customers in scientific instrumentation with cutting edge technology. We are a dedicated team of scientist and engineers with world class expertise in materials science and engineering, embedded control system hardware and software, analytical instrument development, sensors and actuators, and precision engineering design.

Industron Nanotechnology, formerly known as Hysitron Nanotechnology India was founded in 2011 by Dr. S A Syed Asif, Director of R&D, Hysitron and Thomas  Wyrobek, CEO of Hysitron Inc. as the R&D center for Hysitron Inc. in India. Since its inception, Industron has been actively involved in Research and Development activities in India through collaborations with premier institutions such as IISc and IIT’s. Along the way, many cutting edge technology and products have been developed by Industron team, such as BioIndenter which received prestigious R&D 100 award in USA (2014) and NanoGuru, a desktop nanomechanical test instrument for testing nanoscale mechanical properties of materials. Our R&D division has been recognized by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt. of India.

What we do ?

Our customers are the scientists and engineers in academia and industry. Customer satisfaction and superior customer service is one of the pillars of our company. We proactively engage with our customers on a day to day basis and meet them regularly either online or onsite as well as through regular workshops and conferences. Our flagship biennial conference workshop Nanoyantrika is one such example. We undertake R&D consultancy on structure property correlation, failure analysis and design of engineering materials. We have a world class, most advanced laboratory for materials testing at micro and nanoscale with experts at your service. We also undertake, advanced scientific instrument development, embedded control hardware and software development and precision engineering design.

Leadership

Thomas Wyrobek

Thomas Wyrobek is one of the founders of Industron Group of Companies. He was the CEO and Co-Founder of Hysitron Inc., a worldwide leader in designing, producing and servicing leading edge nanoindenters and nanomechanical test instruments to support industrial, academic and government material research innovations. A technically astute and orientated manufacturer, Thomas brings his knowledge, expertise and relationships to the nanotechnology world. He is highly respected worldwide for his forward thinking approaches and methods to advance the emerging nanotechnology field of nanomechanical test instruments.

Thomas has more than 40 years of experience in engineering design, total process control and zero defect production of precise components, assemblies and instrumentation. Previously, he was the President and owner of Molding Technical Systems, a leading supplier of aircraft connectors to the Boeing and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and 7-Sigma, a precision manufacturer for the business machine and disk drive industry. With a strong commitment to promote the science of nanotechnology, Thomas underwrites and supports students, meetings and research projects worldwide. He is a member of the Materials Research Society (MRS); American Vacuum Society (AVS); American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME); Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE); International Disk Drive Equipment and Materials Association (IDEMA); The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS); and the Defense Alliance of Minnesota. Thomas also serves as a board member to three corporations and two non-profits.

Dr S A Syed Asif

Dr. S A Syed Asif, is currently the Managing Director and founder of Industron Group of Companies. He has over 30 years of experience in designing and developing Nanomechanical Testing Instruments. Before Industron, he was Director of R&D at Bruker Nano Surfaces and Hysitron. He has completed his PhD from Oxford University, in Material Science and hold Masters and Bachelors from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He has 22 active patents in nanomechanical instrumentation and, over 120 publications, and numerous invited talks and webinars. He is one of the pioneers of in-situ nanomechanics inside TEM/SEM/Raman microscopes. He has won many R&D 100 awards, Microscopy Today Innovation awards and was instrumental with SBIR funding and National Tibbetts awards for Hysitron. Under his leadership, NanoGuru®, a nanomechanical testing instrument for graduate and undergraduate education and research was developed in India. He is currently active in promoting nanomechanics curriculum worldwide. He is a member of Materials Research Society (MRS), American Ceramic Society (ACerS) and The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS). He is an avid collaborator of research with academic and research institutions worldwide.
